Brad began his photo career while still in high school in Orange County, CA. His love of surfing inspired him to capture images along the Southern California Coastline. In 1972 he dropped out of Golden West College in Huntington Beach to take on a full time job as "Ad guy" and photographer for Surfing Magazine. This was a dream job for a young surfer and a great stepping stone. In 1974 a chance was in the midst and Brad moved to Mammoth to be a ski bum for "one season." Surrounded by all this beauty and recreation made it difficult to leave. He quickly took to ski photography and became a photographer for Powder Magazine. At the same time he was working the ultimate dream job as a Heli-ski guide. This gave him the best conditions possible to photograph. This also came to an end and he continued selling photos to magazines across the country. In 1985 he opened Mammoth Gallery and has created an ideal format for selling his landscape work. Brad now has two Galleries that continue to be the Premier representation of Eastern Sierra Photography.
Brad and his wife Pam divide their time between the North Shore of Kauai and Mammoth Lakes. The photographic possibilities are endless. Most of his work is done with a Pentax 645N medium format camera using a variety of lenses and Fuji Velvia film. All the printed images are drum scanned to 50-200 MB Files. They are burned onto a CD and great attention is taken to match the print to the original. He prints everything himself on an Epson 7500 wide format printer utilizing 200 year archival inks. Brad is truely blessed to have made his career in a profession that brings so much joy to his clients and to himself.
